Surtex Show 2011 - The Javits Center, NYC

Jeremiah and I had another great year at Surtex!  We showcased seven of our collections and received great responses.  We're excited to work with many new groups that we met with at the show as well as companies we are currently working with.  It was so much fun to visit with our booth neighbor friends we made last year at Surtex- Kate Spain and Caroline Simas, both amazing artists!  Our neighbors this year were equally friendly and talented- Kathy Weller and Cindy Lundgren. 

It was a rainy 3 days outside in NYC...but inside the Javits Center it was sunny and bright with people bustling all about.  It was inspiring and exciting to be a part of such a talented group of designers!

Will Smith Paparazzi Pics

Will Smith Photo op

While walking through Soho today with my mom and Kenna we ran into a large crowd of people catching glimpses of the cast members of Men In Black III...they were all waiting cameras in hand for Will Smith to walk out of his truck and go on set. We decided to wait around a few minutes. We're happy we did! The workers outside the truck moved Kenna and I over to the side opposite the crowd because they wanted Kenna to be protected when the people and paparazzi started to swarm when they saw him.
When Will Smith came out of the truck I snapped a few pics off him on my iphone...i thought that would be it but then he walked towards us and saw Kenna. He said,"What a cute baby. Can I hold her?" I said, "Sure!" and then we took a few pics...it was the funniest moment! My mom was laughing watching this. What are the chances? Kenna's first celebrity sighting and photo op! My mom got a handshake too! Jeremiah couldn't believe the pic he saw when I emailed him...he got a few laughs also. I just love nyc! You never know what will happen when you walk out the door!

Four Year Anniversary - Buddakan and Spiderman

Four wonderful years of marriage to my best friend! We celebrated by eating out at Buddakan, a very amazing pan Asian restaurant with incredible decor. Check it out here. It was fun looking back on all that has happened in the past few years...as cliche as it sounds in some ways it seems like just yesterday that we got married...I guess the saying is true- time flies when you are having fun!

After dinner we hurried over to see the Broadway musical Spiderman...it was the preview night for it's second opening (after all the problems that happened they took a few weeks reworking the show). It was fun to be there with all the producers and critics there for it's first showing. We thought it was pretty good. The first half lacked something...it seemed a little slow going and disconnected. The second half was good though. We enjoyed the songs that Peter Parker and MJ sang. The Green Goblin on the piano was really funny and Spiderman flying right above us was awesome. All in all a fun night of celebration.

Cityscape Journal out in Borders!

The journals we designed for Graphique de France came out this past week!  We absolutely LOVE how they turned out!  You can purchase them at any Borders store near you throughout the US or on Graphique de France's website.  They make the perfect gift for those people who love jotting down notes or thoughts in a fun, modern, and chic linen journal.  I've already filled up 1/4 of my own cityscape journal with all our fun adventures in the city...as any of my friends can attest to, I'm a big BIG journal writer...so for this to come out in stores is really fun! Spread the word...Brejer designed journals have hit the stores!
