Museum Mile

Every year in the city they have an event called Museum Mile on 5th Avenue. All the museums are opened up for free from 6-9pm. We headed over to two museums we've never been to before. First- El Museo del Barrio. The museum includes Carribean, Latino, and Latin America art created primarily from NY based Latino artists. It's a smaller museum but worth a trip.

The next museum we went to was on 103rd and 5th Avenue called The Museum of the City of New York. I enjoyed the Moveable Feast exhibit about the NYC Green Carts and the NY Interiors exhibit that gave us a peak into the furnishings in the city from the colonial era to the 20th century. My favorite thing of all though were these miniature doll houses they had on display showcasing what a NY City interior looked like hundreds of years ago. They were fully furnished with photos hanging on beautiful wallpaper, bedding, kitchen, dining area, etc. It made me want to make to a) live in that house and b) make a doll house for Kenna!
